The Secret of Time Engineering: How Humans Can Redefine the Past and Shape the Future

By Dr. Pooyan Ghamari

For many people, time is divided into three separate parts: the past, the present, and the future. But when we look deeper, we realize that this division exists only for human convenience. No religion or culture has ever seen time as a simple straight line. At their core, all share a common truth: the past and future are not separate, and humans can influence the flow of time.

The Quran says, “He is the Beginning and the End, the Manifest and the Hidden.” This means that everything, from the perspective of absolute consciousness, converges in a single point. The Torah says God is the First and the Last. The Bible says that light shines in darkness, and darkness does not overcome it. In all these messages, one idea is hidden: humans move within time, but the meaning of time belongs to consciousness, not the calendar.

In Iranian culture, Ferdowsi says, “Good deeds return tenfold,” which is the most precise expression of the law of energy return. Shams Tabrizi believed that “if you change your heart, the world changes toward you.” This is the same fundamental principle in the Quran: “God does not change the destiny of any people unless they change themselves.” This statement is not just an ethical recommendation—it is a practical law about altering destiny.

In India, karma is the effect of the past, while dharma is the path that transforms the past. In China, it is said, “Water is the softest element in the world, yet it shapes everything.” In Greek philosophy, Pythagoras considered the universe to be harmony, and Nietzsche said, “The noble human transforms the past into power, not chains.”

What is the result of this perspective? Humans cannot erase the past, but they can transform its impact. They cannot change what happened, but they can rewrite the meaning of what happened. They cannot turn back time, but they can redesign the course of the future. This is where humans move from being captives of time to becoming engineers of time.

Time is not a rigid flow; it is a living wave. A wave that humans can influence through the quality of their mind and heart. Change in time does not occur from the outside; it begins within the human being. Every moment a person assigns a new meaning to an old event, the past does not change, but the effect of the past changes—and this alone is enough to create a new future.

All cultures, religions, and philosophies converge on one point: the present is where the future is created and the past is redefined. True power lies in the quality of the present moment. When humans elevate their present selves, three things change simultaneously: the effect of the past, the course of the future, and the meaning of the now.

This truth can completely transform a person’s life. The future does not come from the outside; it is created from within. The past is not a fixed decree; it is raw material that can be transformed into power.

And this is where a human being evolves from an ordinary creature into an aware and creative being.
